Hello, Everyone!
Something fantastic happened this past weekend for Nadia & Amaya. They both auditioned and were chosen to participate in an acting event in California for young actors. In July, the girls will fly to Hollywood, CA, and will learn from celebrity actors, what skills are needed to be successful young actors. They will attend workshops, like commercials, monologues, cold readings, & sitcom workshops, just to name a few. Even more exciting is that they also will film a scene with a Hollywood director! This is an opportunity of a lifetime. Out of the hundreds of people who auditioned, 20 were chosen, including my girls! They are super excited, and I couldn’t be more proud of them.
Amaya is a 5th grade student at C.T. Walker Traditional Magnet school. Some of her hobbies are acting (of course), dancing, and playing the viola. She loves being on stage and entertaining. Amaya is great at Comedic/Improv pieces. She was recently casted as Evileen in the upcoming Musical, The Wiz, at Jessye Norman School of the Arts. Nadia is a 6th grader at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School. She sings in the choir and plays cello in the Crescendo Orchestra at her school. She has performed in both The Boys Choir Concert and the Jessye Norman Benefit Concert here in Augusta, GA. Nadia likes more dramatic roles and prefers monologues. Both are active in the community and are members of Whole Life Ministries Church in Augusta, GA. They both attend Jessye Norman School of the Arts, an after school program, specializing in the Arts. At Jessye Norman, Nadia is involved in dance and music, while Amaya is involved in Drama and dance. They are great students and just all around great kids!
