Hello, my name is Mahmoud Al-Ashqar. I’m 28 years old and from Gaza, Palestine.
I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope, despite the uncertainty that surrounds me. For years, I have dreamed of continuing my education abroad – to escape the cycle of war and destruction and to build a life of dignity, knowledge, and peace.
Growing up in Gaza has been far from normal. We live under constant threat, with no stability, no safety, and very limited opportunities. Every day is a struggle – for food, clean water, electricity, and even basic human rights.
During the recent attacks, my home was destroyed. Along with it, I lost not just the walls that sheltered me, but also all my educational documents, certificates, and precious memories. Still, I refuse to give up on my dream.
I am fundraising to leave Gaza and continue my education abroad. My goal is to learn, grow, and one day return to help rebuild my community and support others like me.
Your support – no matter how small – brings me one step closer to safety, education, and a future free from war.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
— Mahmoud
