Pepper Selph was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) at the age of 4. This is a genetic disorder characterized by the development of multiple tumors of nerves and skin (neurofibromas). They have closely monitored her throughout the years, checking size and type of tumor.
Recently some scans revealed the following:
1. existing tumor in brain has doubled in size.
2. brain surgery from 2 years ago has now collapsed from enlarged tumor.
3. facing another. brain surgery and will be much more invasive, most likely involving a shunt.
4. another new tumor was found in her brain.
5. the tumor that came up on contrast has them concerned that it might be cancerous. They will biopsy with the next brain surgery.
6. no option of cutting out tumors so chemotherapy might be the next plan of action.
7. tumor on her optic nerve is possibly causing hydrocephalus which has serious ramifications if that is the case.
As you can imagine this is incredibly overwhelming and especially financially. Each co-pay and procedure is adding up very quickly; not even considering the leave Katey will have to take from work for surgery and recovery. Anything you can give to Katey & Pepper will bless them as they navigate this situation over the next weeks into months.
Please join us in praying for God to heal Pepper, provide clear answers and sustain Katey throughout this journey. -- Psalm 30:2
