Help NeNe stay warm for the winter
Donation protected
Hi! my name is Kim and together with my friend Mary and Kathy we are asking for help from friends and the community. If your familiar with the Amherst, Tonawanda area, you will recognize NeNe! She is a service dog that is owned by a homeless woman for the past 13 years. Due to mental health issues and a fear of being inside on the owner's part, they have together been surviving on the streets and surrounding areas of Ellicott Creek Park. Her owner is a very kind hearted woman and her dog is her life line and everyday companion. Her only constant friend. NeNe is very well taken care of and seen by a veterinarian on a regular basis. She is a sweet dog that is loved very much and who has been through a lot over the years. Unfortunately, she has developed arthritis most predominantly in her hind leg that makes her walking a bit difficult these days. As many of you have seen over the last 5 years that she has been in the area, they cover a lot of ground. Together with my friends, we are trying to raise funds to help her owner afford a room for the winter months. NeNe cannot withstand another buffalo winter in a tent. We have recently gotten a bike trailer second hand to help NeNe get around in style instead of trudging it. We have secured a room for her that will keep her in familiar territory and keep NeNe warm and safe through the cold winter months. Please share her story and help us raise the monies to make this possible! Both dog and owner so appreciate the help and support from our community! Any amount you can donate will help make this possible! Thank you so much! Update: the wonderful Niagara County SPCA opened their hearts and took NeNe in for a checkup due to her limp and unfortunately the news wasn’t good. So, the need to make this winter comfortable for NeNe and her Momma is even more important, this will most likely be her last. So thank you everyone for making a difference for this little soul.
