My name is Celeste Gallupe. I am hoping to raise money to help with my medical bills. I have had the unluckiest 10 months of my life.
It began back in September. My mom (and best friend) had a heart attack and was in a coma for 10 days. She had been clear about her wishes and I had to let her go. She had been living with me for the past 10 years, since the death of my husband Dale.
In November I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had gone through breast cancer with my mom, and having just lost her made it all the harder to cope with.
In January I had a double mastectomy and the begining of reconstruction. Unfortunately my 1st plastic surgeon was not a good doctor, and I had to get another one to fix the things that the first one messed up. Including puncturing one of the tissue expanders. Yesterday I had my 5th surgery since the begining of 2015.
In May I took a fall and likely tore my rotator cuff in my right shoulder. I haven't been able to have an MRI yet because there was metal in the tissue expanders that were in my chest for the reconstruction. Those were removed yesterday and I am scheduled for an MRI on the 2nd of July. I have been in pain and unable to use my right arm since the fall, and am most likely going to need shoulder surgery as soon as possible.
I have been unable to work, and the medical bills keep growing by leaps and bounds. I have also been undergoing chemotherapy and will continue to be in treatment until March of 2016.
I have never asked for help before, but am going to swallow my pride and do so now. Before I am swallowed up by the tsunami of medical debt I am incurring.
