My name is Laytin Reis, for those that don’t know me I am an identical twin. My brother Jada and his fiancé Lindsey have a 4 year old golden retriever who they rescued a couple of years ago named Maddie. For those that know my brother know that he and Maddie are inseparable… she’s the other blonde in his passengers seat. Unfortunately, yesterday Maddie was involved in an accident and was struck by a piece of equipment. This was a total freak accident that no one could’ve foreseen happening. Maddie spent most of yesterday afternoon at the vet where she was diagnosed with a dislocated hip, the hip was unable to be put back into place by conventional methods and Maddie will need to undergo surgery tomorrow morning to attempt to reset the hip, we are hopeful that this will be successful but whether it is or not Maddie still has a long road ahead of her. Recovery from any sort of fix sounds like months of rest, rehab, meds, and vets appointments. Jada and Lindsey are also expecting a little one in late August, so to say they will have their hands full is an understatement. Inevitably they will both need to take time off from work and Maddie’s pet insurance will not cover all of the expenses. Considering all of this my mother and I are trying to get ahead of this and hopefully provide Jada and Linds with a small cushion to help ease the stress for the near future. We are not typically the kind to ask for something like this but Maddie, Lindsey, Jada, and their incoming addition to the family will certainly rest a little easier knowing that Maddie’s expenses aren’t something they need to worry about. We will post Maddie updates as we get them and we’re hopeful that many questions will be answered tomorrow after surgery.
