On February 9th, Roger D. Beatty Jr passed away after almost 14 month battle with congestive heart failure. At which his heart ejection rate was at 12%. He experienced many complications on and off which required many hospital stays at which he saw many different doctors and specialists and tried different approaches with hopes they would lead to a pacemaker/ defibrillator (heart had to strengthen to be a candidate) During this time his ejection rate got better and was around 23%. Sadly right when Roger was scheduled and ready to have pacemaker/ defibrillator put in his insurance changed and procedure was cancelled and he had to get a new cardiologist. Thats when he went back down to the ejection rate of 12% (while still taking all his medications which previously improved his ejection rate) Complications still went on with hospital stays.
One of Roger’s last hospital stays he was told he was in liver failure and needed a referral for hospice that there was nothing more they could do. The doctors said his body was shutting down and his organs will fail one by one or his heart would just stop at any given moment. (which could of happened since he was diagnosed)
There was no question at that point, he was going home with his sister (which he lived with on and off throughout the years) After almost a week on hospice, Roger rapidly declined and required 24/hrs a day nurse care which he had until he passed. His family stayed by his side day & night until his last breath. Roger fought one hell of a battle and made sure he left on his own terms. If you knew Roger, you knew that somethings were only his way… like he would say, he was “the boss”.
Roger’s family is planning a memorial for him and will share on social media when everything is set. If you are able to donate to help his family with his final expenses, please do so.
Thank you in advance for all your love and support ❤️
