Stand with Cynthia: Her Cancer Battle, Her Legacy of Giving

Donation protected
With the heaviest heart, I share that my mother, Cindy Ramos-Davidson — the unwavering matriarch of our family and a powerful force in the El Paso community — is now in the fight of her life. She is battling aggressive and rapidly advancing pancreatic and colon cancer, a diagnosis that has shaken our world in every possible way.

Her health began declining in early February 2025. By March 1st, it became clear that something serious was happening. On March 15th, we received the devastating diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Just one month later, on April 15th, we learned that she had colon cancer — two life-altering moments that changed everything for our family.

Because of the gravity and complexity of her illness, Cindy made the incredibly difficult decision to step down as CEO of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce after more than 27 years of service. This sudden and unforeseen transition has left a significant emotional and financial impact on our family. Yet through it all, one thing remains: she still has fight left in her — and she is ready to face this battle head-on, with urgency, grace, and grit. Above all else, Cindy simply wants more time to laugh, love, give, and live.

If you know Cindy, you know she is more than a leader — she is a champion. A nationally recognized advocate for minority success, a fierce voice for small business owners, a mentor, and a friend to so many. Her life’s work has been dedicated to building bridges, opening doors, and empowering others — not just in El Paso, but across Texas and beyond. Her impact is wide, lasting, and deeply personal to so many.

Now, it’s our turn to lift her up.

We have created this GoFundMe to help cover:

✨ Escalating medical expenses and access to specialized care teams to navigate each hurdle of her fight

✨ Opportunities to pursue research and advanced treatment options for her complex case

✨ Resources to ensure her comfort, dignity, and quality of life throughout this journey

✨ The continuation of her legacy — building a small business grant program inspired by her life's mission

In true Cindy fashion, even amid her own battle, she continues thinking of others. Any remaining funds will be used to create a small business grant program to support small minority-owned businesses across Texas — ensuring her spirit of giving lives on, no matter what comes next.

If Cindy has ever touched your life — through her leadership, her mentorship, or her friendship — we would love to hear from you.
If a financial contribution isn’t possible, inspiration is. Your words, prayers, memories, and encouragement fuel her soul and remind her how deeply she is loved.

Share a message, photo, or memory here.

Your prayers, generosity, and love mean more than we can ever express. This fight is far from over — and together, we will continue to show up for Cindy, just as she has always shown up for us.

And together, we will keep giving back, just as she has always done.

We love you, Cindy (Mom).
We’re with you — every step of the way.
