Grant’s Story

Hey there everyone, my name is Bryson. My good friends and I work with Grant, but we’re more like family than employees. So we got together and started this gofundme for him. This is Grant’s story, please read below.

It was a typical day working on the job site in construction, the day was productive and going smoothly. But unexpectedly later that day Grant was in a very serious accident that had him rushing to the emergency room. We were flying our trusses for the roof, when by a complete freak accident, Grant fell from the top of the third story wall of our building, 3 stories down to the ground and one of our very heavy roof gables landed right on top of him (to read a detailed explanation of how this happened please scroll down). The entire crew rushed down to him within seconds with 911 already on the line. Miraculously, Grant was alive and conscious, but in tremendous pain. To survive a fall from 3 stories is incredible, but to survive that plus the crushing impact of a heavy gable is a miracle. Grant suffered a broken pelvis, broken femur (compound fracture), a fractured arm, a broken ankle, 6 or more broken cheek and facial bones, broken ribs, a lacerated aorta, along with overall swelling, bruising, and multiple open wounds. Many surgeries have already been performed and were successful. And right now at this moment he needs support more than ever. And you, the one reading this right now can make a difference in Grants journey! You can be apart of this by financially supporting Grant on his road to recovery! Any amount great or small, is so immensely appreciated! If you feel a tug in your heart, I encourage you to listen to it! You can also help tremendously by sharing this link to as many people as possible! All donations will be covering medical expenses. Thank you so much!!

About Grant
Grant is 24 years old, and he carries so many amazing traits and skills. He’s the type of person people look up to and want to be around because they can feel the love and friendliness he radiates outwards. He’s very fun, loving, smart, understanding, supportive, he’s dedicated and ambitious about his dreams, he is so caring about others, he once told me about his dream to start a organization that helped people, that truly helped them through their struggles and got them back up on their feet. That’s Grants heart for you. He’s so passionate, he’s a great leader and a very hard worker, and he’s one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. He loves and excels in many things including jiu jitsu, hiking, camping, and his construction job which he helps lead and manage, to name just a few.

What The Future Holds
Grants life will forever change from this day forward. But I believe Grants story will be an inspiration to many, it will be a story that will bring awe and wonder, a story that makes people question their own walk in life and motivate them to go out and do what they want to do, be with who they want to be with, live the dreams they’ve always dreamed of. Because life is precious, life is short, and not very often does life give us second chances, and what happened to Grant was not only a second chance, but a miracle. God had different plans for Grant, and He wasn’t quite yet finished with Grants journey. And his story will forever be a permanent testimony to faith and strength, and to overcoming the most impossible of obstacles, and it will be shared to many for all of life.

Details On The Accident
While flying roof trusses with a crane, Grant was 3 stories high on our building waiting for the crane to fly over our gable, a bigger and heavier truss. When this gable came into contact with Grant, he tied off his fall protection harness to the gable, exactly how it’s supposed to be done, and proceeded to nail it off. When Grant detached the crane’s cable from the gable, the crane began to pull away but it unintentionally hooked onto a metal hanger that’s attached to the gable, and the crane ripped the gable off the building and it fell. Since Grant was tied off to it, it pulled him off the building with it and Grant fell 3 stories, and worst of all, the gable landed right on top of him.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read about Grant and his story. Please share his story, and support his recovery with any size contribution you feel. Love and blessings to you all.
