My mother, Gloria, died on April 4th, 2020 and the hospital is giving us only 5 days to make arrangements or they'll do things their way. We don't want that. New York is currently in crisis and even finding a funeral home that could do something was hard but we did. Unfortunately they want almost $5,000 paid on date of service and my mother's insurance won't pay out for at least two weeks, even expedited.
Now, neither my brother or I have a credit card that can cover that amount. Asking a friend for that big of a favor is a bit much and a loan is almost impossible due to our credit scores. So I turn to you, the public, for help. The clock is ticking for us and we need help fast! Every little bit helps. Thank you!
EDIT: I was advised to up the amount I need a bit because gofundme takes a percentage in transaction fees. I'm hoping upping it to $6,000 will cover the slightly under $5,000 we actually need. I am already awed and greatful for people's generosity. Thank you so much!
EDIT: My brother had to cash his retirement to get things done on time, unfortunately. We're now keeping this fund going so that we can get a nice urn for her and hopefully hold a decent memorial once the COVID-19 pandemic has passed. We appreciate every bit of help we get, thank you.
