Take the Warriors to Cooperstown!

Seven years in the making, our Wilshire Warriors 12U baseball team is finalizing plans to head to the mecca of youth baseball tournaments at the Cooperstown Dreams Park in Cooperstown, New York this summer.  Some of these kids started playing when they were five and six years old - recreational league, then all-stars and lots of travel ball.  Our team has worked together all this time through countless practices, hundreds of hamburgers and tacos, glorious overnight stays for travel tournaments, exhilarating wins and lesson-learning losses.  They’ve played hard, had fun and gotten really, really good at baseball!  

 

So now it’s time for Cooperstown - a dream our boys have talked about for many years.  Held at a place called “Dreams Park” where baseball teams from all over the country come to compete just a few minutes away from the Baseball Hall of Fame, this one-week tournament will see our boys hanging with and competing against some of the finest youth baseball players in America.  They'll stay in rustic barracks with their coaches, bonding as a group and basking in their newfound independence, before running onto cathedral-like diamonds up to 10 times to take their shot at other elite teams. It promises to be a very special experience for all of them and a great celebration of years of hard work and determination - but it’s not cheap!  


Each of our families is making generous donations to help pay the bulk of the cost of our trip (some $2000 a player), and the kids will be reaching out to friends and family to help support this effort.  On top of that, we are looking to raise an additional $7,500 as a team to cover a variety of costs. 

To that end, we are setting up this Go Fund Me page and we will be having a number of fundraisers throughout the Spring. This is where we need your help to make the Cooperstown dream for our 12U Warriors come true.
