Chennai is drenched in record breaking rains and it is seeing some of the worst rainfall and subsequent floods in over a 100 years. The amount of damage
caused was unprecedented. People have lost homes, no food, medical and water. Waterloogin has hampered relief operations.

Over 200 people have died, and several million people stranded. Many people who haven't eaten for days. They have seen their possessions float away from the
house. Food, clothes - all gone. Pregnant ladies have been stuck in there house. Hapless residents who had taken refuge on higher floors of buildings were
seen pleading for essentials like milk and water which remain in short supply.





On Dec. 4, at least 18 people died at a hospital in Chennai. While the cause of the deaths has not been ascertained yet, relatives of the deceased claim
that the hospital’s critical care systems failed due to power disruptions caused by heavy flooding in the premises. Floods have destroyed crucial road and
rail links, shutdown the airport, snapped power and telecom lines
