Troy Vares' repatriation & Funeral

Aloha, friends, family, and loved ones of Troy Vares. On Wednesday, Nov.25th, we lost one of the most generous, fun-loving, dedicated, and kind people anyone could ever ask for as a brother, and I got him.  We got him. We, Edward, Shawn, Jeffrey, and Brendan Vares, were Troy's younger brothers. But if you knew Troy, you probably already count yourself as one of us, his younger brothers or sisters. That's because Troy had the amazing ability to make everyone he met feel like they were already his family, ready to help at a moment's notice, ready to come through when you needed someone, or ready for an epic roadtrip full of adventures and lifelong memeories.
During his most recent journey, he was traveling with some of his best friends, Tim and Megan, as they celebrated their upcoming wedding in Cancun, Mexico, with Troy as their Best Man.  On a beautiful snorkeling expedition to the breathtaking Cenotes caves, Troy suffered a fatal heart attack and passed away, with his loving friends by his side.  
As we cope with this great loss of such an integral, irreplaceable part of our family, we are also moving forward towards bringing Troy home to the US (repatriating) and celebrating his life in a memorial service back home on Maui.
We have learned that, while Troy would not hesitate to help a friend, family member, or client, he neglected to purchase any sort of life insurance for himself, or leave substatial savings for such an emergancy.
The costs to prepare and flyTroy home from Mexico have totalled $6,800 and the additional mortuary services and funeral arrangements here on Maui are $6,900, totalling almost $14,000.   We, his immediate family, will be paying for these services. It pains us to put this request forward in such a painful time of loss, for all of us. If you are unable to attend his memorial and were considering sending flowers, or are considering a way to pay respect to Troy's memory, we respectfully ask to have that cost carried forward to Troy's family, to ease the financial burden.  
We know that your friendship and love was Troy's most valued possession, and is worth more than gold. We thank you for being part of Troy's amazing life.
