I Kjeld Rasmussen am the son of Jan Rasmussen. My Beloved Father Jan Rasmussen passed away earlier this morning here in Colombia. His second home where he retired with my Colombian Mother Angela Rasmussen Diaz de Los Angeles who he now Joins in Heaven.

It breaks my heart to have to use this platform to raise the funds to bury my Father. After serving his country as a Military Police in the USMC and then going on to having a successful career in the grocery field in the United States, his adopted home for over 45 Years. To his credit among his many awards and accolades in the Business of Food. One of his greatest achievements was the introduction of the KIWI FRUIT to the US MARKET . Also he was a  Pioneer in bringing the Banks and other specialty services into the Grocery Store Arena.

My Mother and Jan had a beautiful 49 year marriage and partnership.

I have been living here with my Father for the last 6 years , I chose to be here as his companion and caretaker. 

Sadly as so many seniors today, he outlived his savings and we have nothing to give him the honorable and respectful funeral service he asked for and deserves, we planeed out a very simple service and Memorial where he will join my Mother Angela, and after a few friends to talk about Jans Lifelong stories as he was a Great Story Teller.

My Dear Friends and Family, I am asking with a heavy Heart to please Donate whatever you feel you can. Marines, Family, Friends, past coworkers and Neighbors Near or Far, if you knew Jan, you knew HE WAS A  GOOD MAN and Example to Myself and  Many.

As you can imagine this is an URGENT Situation, I do have Good friends who are helping, but with All of Our resources we are still lacking.

I know I am still in the Surreal State not realizing that he his Really GONE but I know to Thank All of You in Advance for yourSupport, Kindness and Donation.
