Normally, John and Hillary Kildare are serving the public, today we ask the public to help support them in their time of need. Officer John Kildare has served the citizens of Seward, Nebraska as a Police Officer for the last 8 years and Hillary Kildare has been answering the call for those in need for over 4 years as a Seward County Dispatcher. Last year as the birth of their first child, John Jr. or J.J. was approaching, John developed a cough which persisted beyond normal and was subsequently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. At the same time due to complications, J.J. made his arrival early and had to spend some time in the N.I.C.U.
The next few months were a blur of the trials and tribulations that surround chemotherapy and then radiation treatments in combination with life with a newborn, but the Kildare's always remained positive and optimistic. Following the treatments, after John's strength came back, he jumped right back in and returned to work in May. In mid-June, John went for his follow up scan and more suspicious spots were identified and a plan for more treatment was developed.
Not a couple days later after John's check up, Hillary arrived home to find John completley confused and disoriented. She decided to take John to the hospital. Doctors discovered that John had developed a tumor on his brain that had began to bleed and swell which had caused his disorientation and confusion. An emergency surgey took place in order to release the pressure on on John's brain. John and his family now face even a longer road ahead.
John's sister asked him how he was feeling about the news the doctor had given him. He said that "it is what it is" and that he would just have to deal with it. We know that his wish is to watch his little boy grow up. We know that every set back is discouraging, but we still hope and have faith that he will get that chance.
Our goal is to raise money to help defray medical costs and ease the burden on this wonderful family. Please help this family by keeping them in your thoughts and prayers. Any amount donated to the family is greatly appericated and we deeply thank you for your donation. Help John and his family fight this cancer off, and pray for him to be well again.
