My Brothers Keeper Hospice Transport

Hi, my name is Karen. I am raising funds to start My Brothers Keeper Hospice Transportation. My goal is to be able to obtain an ambulance and stretcher van to be able to bring” loved ones home” who have started hospice and unable to arrange transportation.

Now the why ? In January of 2021, my best bud, my womb mate was diagnosed with Lymphoma. He fought for 1 1/2 years, until they told us there was no more they could do. He was hospitalized 2 hours away from our home. We had so much difficulty finding transportation as we needed transportation that could accommodate a stretcher. Also, in his situation it was not an emergency medical need , so we struggled more with transportation. My family spent several hours trying to obtain transportation. We were finally able to get transportation but it would be a few days wait. We were able to get my brother to his childhood home were he was able to pass peacefully with his family by his side.

My goal is to create an organization where families who struggle with transportation of their loved one, in hospice, to be able to get home. I plan to provide this service as a non profit through donations and grants. There are several things to work out, but I need funding to get started. Going through this experience I realized this was such a huge need.
