Malibe's Hepatatis C treatment
Donation protected

As some of you--my friends and family--already know, I am trying to raise $4000 to help my friend Malibe Arnaut get treatment for Hepatitis C.
Malibe contracted Hepatitis C from a blood transfusion during delivery of her first baby 30 years ago. She started to get really ill about 8 years ago and did not know what was wrong until she was diagnosed with Cirrhosis. This diagnosis (she has never imbibed anything stonger than orange juice) led to the discovery that she has Hepatitis C.
Since then she has done everything she possibly can to stay alive but has always been sustained by her great faith. In the last 8 years she has nearly died multiple times because of internal bleeding stemming from the Hepatitis C. She is not a candidate for a liver transplant because the Hep. C virus would infect the liver again.
As you can see from the image below, the costs of treating Hepatitis C (Genotype 2) in the USA is beyond her dreams, and beyond the dreams of most people.

A few months ago a new medication was approved that would cure her Hepatitis C, (it has been effective in 97 to 100% of cases) for a fraction of the cost. Even this though is beyond her means. Malibe lives and Mexico and cannot begin to afford the treatment which would amount to between $4000-$4500.
Although many of your reading this may not know Malibe--and perhaps never will in this lifetime--she is one of the most kind and gentle souls ever to have walked the planet. She has not a mean bone in her body. She is the type of person who--despite the very real possibility of succumbing to this illness--gives thanks to God every day and never misses a chance to help anyone who crosses her path.
How often in life are we blessed with the chance to participate in saving the life of a stranger? Not in helping them pay off a car loan or go on a trip to study in Europe: but in literally saving another person's life. Not often, in my experience. This is that chance. Anything helps.
To those of you who can help, may God bless you richly. No amount is too small. To those who cannot, we would ask only that you say a prayer for Malibe.
We will upload scanned copies of all receipts. 100% of your donation will be used only for saving Malibe's life.
