Kendra and I have been friends since we were four years old. In those nearly 30 years of knowing each other, we've been able to share all our major milestones together, like standing up in one another's weddings and celebrating the births of our collective four children. We've been able to share the little things, too, like eating heart shaped pizzas together on Valentine's Day.
Part of the unity of friendship is helping out in a time of great need, and that is why I'm starting this gofundme. Kendra was diagnosed with breast cancer over the summer. The course of her treatment includes surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and reconstruction, among other therapies as needed. She intends to continue teaching as she is able to help meet the financial burden of her cancer treatments, but even this won't meet the cost of her rising medical bills.
As a fellow mom of young children, and teacher, I have a hard time imagining how she will manage teaching on and off, caring for her family, and maintaining her home, all while keeping a sense of herself while undergoing intensive cancer treatment. But Kendra's faith is strong, and I know she will rise to meet this challenge with all her might. Kendra is a giver and a nurturer, and would never ask for money from even me, one of her closest friends. But luckily I have no problem asking for help for her! Would you consider rallying around Kendra and her family and making a donation today?
Please feel free to post this and spread the word. And many thanks to those who are able to contribute.
