Hi ! My name is Cinthya. I am starting a fundraiser for my nephew David.

He was diagnosed with acute diverticulitis about 3 months ago. At the beginning of July he went to the hospital with acute pain. The doctors found an infection and an abscess in his colon that had to be drained. He was sent home with an IV to be administered. After a week, instead of getting better, he felt worse, and the pain and agony were too much to handle. So he went to another hospital. After just a few hours, they found that the bacteria causing the infection was CDIFF.

In severe cases, CDIFF surgery is done to remove the diseased portion of the colon. This was his case, and a big part of his colon had to be removed. While operating, the doctors found a significant abscess and bladder damage due to the infection. David is in the ICU and recovering. Unfortunately, doctors expect he will not be back to work until at least three months, which is already causing significant financial hardship.
