Puerto Rico Missions Trip

A team of 20 adults and children will travel to PUERTO RICO for a MISSIONS TRIP from OCTOBER 6-12, 2018 !
Please help us raise funds for the Puerto Rico Missions trip with Praying Pelican Missions. The all-in cost for this missions trip will be approximately $1000 per person, which includes flight, food, lodging and transportation in Puerto Rico. On this trip we will be helping with the recovery efforts after hurricane Maria, working with a local orphanage and doing evangelism during the evenings.
Our Story
Rob and I have been growing in our faith over these past 5 years, and something God has put on our hearts is to participate in a mission trip. We feel that Puerto Rico is the location we are supposed to go for our first mission trip.
Twenty-five years ago this October, Rob and I were married and we went to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico as part of our honeymoon. Our pictures from 1993 are of a lush green El Yunque Rainforest and thriving downtown San Juan. We were saddened when we witnessed the destruction caused by Hurricane Maria. Not only were we upset that the beauty was affected, but we have also grown close to many who are from or have family in Puerto Rico who have lost so much as a result of the powerful winds and rain,
As the months after the hurricane passed, we saw and heard of the devastation in Puerto Rico. Even today 20% of the residents are without electricity. More than 4,600 people died. There is a need for help. We hope to show God's love to children in an orphanage and the elderly at a nursing home. Some of our team members will be working with others to assist with the rebuilding efforts. In the evenings we will be sharing the message of Jesus within the Puerto Rico neighborhoods.
Please help us reach our goal of $2000 so that Rob and I are able to join the team. Any funds raised over that amount will go to others on our team. If all team members have the necessary monies to participate, we will use any remaining funds to purchase materials and supplies to take with us.
