I’m Sonari Glinton. I’ve spent my career telling stories for NPR, Planet Money, and The Indicator. Now I want to build something of my own.

Vanilla is Black is a podcast and community that looks at race, culture, and the economy through a Black lens. It’s for people who want to understand how our stories shape the world, and how the world often tries to erase them.

Very few storytelling podcasts ever get funded, even fewer Black ones. But I believe this one can do what others don’t. I can tell the stories that are too often overlooked, with the care and craft they deserve.

I have been deeply involved in making sure people get paid for their work. Your support helps cover the basics: production, editing, rights, music, and travel to make this work possible.
