My name is Leah Yvette Holt, and from the moment I was able to move objects with my hands, I was artistically enthralled. In elementary school and middle school I was given little chances to express myself, until I was almost hurled into my high school art department my sophomore year. From that point on I've been experimenting with all artistic mediums, especially oil painting. I started painting for people for birthdays and anniversaries around the states and even major church occasions. College was the next step. When I first visited the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri, I was instantly in love with every aspect it had to offer. The professors there introduced me to teaching at their level and I decided then and there that I wanted to be apart of the educational field as well and also enhance my skills further as I taught. I knew I had to go there. I lucked out through financial aid and other scholarships so I turned to selling my work and just about everything else to find out that I hadn't put a dent in the money I would owe each semester.
