If you know Luwam, you know she is an incredibly vibrant person who loves traveling and thrives on being active. This week her life was turned upside down in an instant. Unfortunately, as she was chatting with a friend, on the sidewalk, she was tragically hit and run over by a pickup truck that then fled the scene.

Shes currently undergoing care at Grady Memorial and has suffered 3 fractures in her back, a dislocated knee, and two sprained ankles along with other serious injuries.

Once she leaves the hospital, Luwam will face months of intensive rehabilitation and therapies to regain her mobility and independence. In an effort to help her focus on her recovery, we aim to raise funds to help cover medical bills and ongoing therapies.
