All of these words describe a beautiful person who means so much to so many people. Let me begin by telling you the story about this very special person.

Six years ago, Kathy unexpectedly suffered a massive stroke, which left her paralyzed on her left side and restricted her to a wheelchair. Her loving husband Matt and daughter Maggie devotedly cared for her and they began to live the new normal that was to be their life. Kathy never complained, always had a kind word for others, and lived her life in the best way possible.  She continued to spend every minute that she could with her daughter and precious granddaughter Zoey, watch her darling friend Miranda play on her sport teams, and follow the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. In typical Kathy style she wore her hats, created fairy gardens, became an expert on old Hollywood movies, and shared her quick wit with all those around her.

Six years later, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, she fell while getting out of her chair.  After realizing that she had broken her arm, Matt got her to the hospital. During the exam and X-rays it was discovered that she appeared to have a form of bone cancer. She was kept in the hospital and separated from her husband and family for over a week due to the restrictions from the pandemic. After 10 days of tests and continued separation from her family, she was diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer. Once again, an unexpected blow has hit Kathy and her family.

Needless to say, their family has come under unimaginable stress and has found themselves challenged financially. Matt and Kathy have always been the first ones to come to the aid of others. Whether it be as volunteers or with financial support, their family has always given to those in need. At this time, they are the ones who need the love, prayers, and assistance of those around them. Our hope is that in setting up this GoFundMe account we can all help and support them during this challenging time.

Thank you so much for letting us share this story with you. Your prayers, encouragement, and donations are appreciated more than you can imagine.
