House Fire

Hi friends/ family/curious followers of Instagram and fb,

Some of you are very familiar with my family background, but most of you may not be. And while we never imagine ourselves having to reach out, today, I am humbly asking for help. This afternoon I was informed my mom’s home had partially burned down from an electrical fire. Thankfully no one was harmed, and everyone is safe. My younger sister lives at home with with her two small children- one of which needs special attention/care. They are 3 and 8 months old.
Losing a home is devastating in any capacity. And unfortunately, insurance isn’t always an option for coverage. My heart hurts for them, but it also overflows with love and hope; I know, just as before, brighter days are always ahead. Even while sharing the news, she smiles before any sign of tears. The fire took away the kitchen, bathroom, and kid’s room. The rest of the house is damaged from the intense heat and smoke. I know these are challenging times for many, so if you're reading this and cannot help, I appreciate the thought and absolutely understand. But if you can help in any way, we are very grateful to accept. In either case, we appreciate your time and prayers.
I always remember my mom working, sometimes 2 or 3 jobs at a time, all while trying her best to keep a roof over her head. Sometimes successful, while other times housed in camps, tents, hotels, etc. At one point even sheltered in an abandoned trailer set for the homeless but never actually open to the homeless to use (no water/power). In my early teens, my mom finally had a few years of stable housing behind her and decided if she wanted to keep a home for her family, she needed to drop the cost and own it herself. Thinking beyond the setbacks of California life, she saved everything she could with her goal in mind: a piece of property in her hometown TX. She did just that! She purchased 2.5 acres while the land was still super cheap and found a cute little trailer to be the sprout of her new home. Over the past 10+ years, she has slowly added to the house to accommodate her grandkids and dreams. I am so incredibly proud of her and her incredible journey. Having a place to call home is something our family will never take for granted. We're very grateful she still has her property, but her house and most items are unsalvageable, and they will need to start over. Again, I understand times are difficult for many, so if you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, we appreciate any kind thoughts and prayers while we work to rebuild.
