Update Wednesday, August 27:

Devastatingly, brain function tests performed on Aug 26th revealed no brain function. We are absolutely gutted for the loss of precious Stetson. There is no way for a loved one to prepare for these moments.

Please pray for Dylan and Lauren as they navigate through these unimaginable decisions. Pray for Deacon as he is forced to adjust to life without his precious brother. Pray for the extended family as they learn to cope with their new normal and support Dylan and Lauren.

Even though there has been a great tragedy with the loss of Stetson, the Jones family has been so touched and encouraged by the outreach they have received. They are hopeful that Stetson’s life can serve to lead people to God. They can clearly see and want others to see that these type of situations would be impossible to accept without faith.

Update as of Monday morning, August 25th:

It has been very difficult to formulate an update.

Yesterday, Stetson was stable enough for the doctors to be able to perform a brain function test. The test results were what the doctors expected, but not what anyone hoped. The tests show no brain function.

The medical process requires the tests to be completed again 12 or more hours after the initial testing. This will help to confirm the initial findings.

As of 10am, Stetson is not stable enough to face additional tests. They will have to wait for his numbers to level off to be able to do further testing.

Lauren and Dylan are understandably devastated.

They have explained to Deacon that Stetson is likely to be going to be with God in Heaven. While we continue to pray to God for earth-side healing for Stetson, we understand it may not be HIs will.

Most likely, Lauren and Dylan are soon approaching a time where they will be forced to make unthinkable decisions. This is a situation that no parent could ever prepare for.

Please continue to pray for healing. Please pray for his parents as they face the unimaginable. Please pray for them to be strengthened together in a way only God can do.

Please continue to share and donate, if you are able. We know there can’t be peace in this situation, but we aim to be sure they face no financial strain and can focus on Stetson and Deacon and the impossible road before them.

Stetson Jones, a precious two year old boy from Priceville, has contracted viral meningitis. Doctors are startled at how quickly the sickness has progressed.

Stetson became sick on Wednesday, Aug 20th. The virus spread quickly, causing seizures and ultimately major swelling and brain damage. This morning (Friday, Aug 22nd), the swelling on his brain had decreased a little. Stetson is not stable enough to lay flat to have an MRI, to determine any change in brain function. The doctors say he has a good bit of damage to his brain tissue and they have never seen anyone recover with this diagnosis.

Understandably, the whole family is devastated! He is only 2!

Stetson’s parents, Lauren and Dylan, have had to stop working temporarily to be with him. They are likely to face many unforeseen bills and financial obstacles as a result of everything that is going on. We would love to ease their burden in regards to anything financial they may face.

While the outlook may appear grim, we know the Great Physician and we know He can heal Stetson, if it is His will. We know God has a plan and we trust Him!

The doctor’s feel confident that Stetson is brain dead…BUT we know God is able!!

Even this morning, August 22, Lauren’s daily devotional reaffirmed that hope is not dead. Stetson NEEDS God’s intervention for healing.

Eph 3:20 - “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be the glory.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭11‬:‭24‬ ‭-“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Please pray for Dylan, Lauren and Deacon (Stetson’s 4 year old brother) as they navigate through this. Pray for CONTINUED healing of Stetson’s brain and that he will begin responding and wake up. We give God ALL the glory. #stetsonstrong
