Divine Properties is a property management company in Ione, CA. The owner, Kandi Thompson was born and raised in Amador County and lives in Jackson, CA where the Butte Fire swept through.
Based on what we do for a living, Divine Properties has the ability to reach out directly to the home owners affected by the loss of their homes as well as the tenants that have lost their homes as well.
We are saddened by our very own office assistant, Ashley, at Divine Properties being one of the families that lost her home to the Butte Fire.
Although most renters and home owners have insurance, there is a deductible that has to be met. We are grateful, especially during times like these, that we require our tenants to carry renters insurance, but the deductible alone is $500 and many don't even have that. Our goal is to help at least 20 victims of the Butte Fire offset their deductibles.
Divine Properties has over 23 owners of properties that we manage that have homes in the areas that were under mandatory evacuation and we have 30+ tenants displaced as well. We have yet to hear whether or not those homes are still standing.
How do we determine who is eligible for the $500 donation? We have a relationship with the insurance companies in the area that call us to help house the families that have lost their homes. In addition, we receive requests from family and friends when there is a need and with our resources as property managers and Realtors, we confirm the need prior to approving the donation.
We will keep accounting of every dime of these donations and will share with all of the generous parties that have donated EXACTLY where each and every bit of the donations have gone. It is with great humility that we are able to help these families in need.
