Our names are Chaundra Simmons and Alicia Simmons. On Christmas night, our world shattered when our beloved brother, who was not just a brother-in-law but a cherished

member of our family, lost his life in a devastating house fire. Alongside him, their home and cherished dog were also lost in the flames. Our hearts ache for our sister and her teenage son who are now left to rebuild their lives from the ashes.

Our brother was a pillar of strength, a loving husband, father, grandfather, grandson, son, brother, cousin, and friend. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, and his untimely departure has left a void that can never be filled.

This GoFundMe campaign aims to provide our sister Monique Simmons-Jenkins and nephew Ahmad Jenkins with the support they need to rebuild and restart. The funds raised will go towards clothing, everyday essentials, and the daunting task of finding a new place to call home. Additionally, as they lost all their furniture in the fire, we hope to assist in furnishing their new space, offering a bit of comfort in this trying time.

Beyond our immediate family, we witnessed true heroism from the little guy and his siblings who risked their lives in an attempt to save our brother. The 10-year-old even selflessly suggested returning his Christmas gifts to help our sister and nephew. Their bravery deserves recognition, and part of the funds raised will be dedicated to providing a special gift for these courageous heroes.
