Hello everyone! my name is Zach Platt, i was born with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, a disease that stopped my arms from developing entirely. I was born and raised on Maui in Hawaii. Over the years i fell in love with the ocean as many people do and found that Skimboarding was a great way for me to be in the water and be an equal with the other guys. Skimboarding has taught me so much about myself and has kept me in shape and out of trouble, such a great sport fot the kids of today to get into.


I have been competing in downhill Skateboard competitions and standing wave flowrider competitions
but my real passion is Skimboarding. I have almost always walked away with a trophy or a medal in all of my times competing. In 2013 i recieved the Sportsmanship Award and also 4th place in my division in the Victoria World Championships of Skimboarding. i have traveled to California by saving money on my own and would love to go back but it is very expensive to travel.
I am hoping to go to the last two stops of the UST United Skim Tour, the biggest contests in Skimboarding. The last two contests this year are in Laguna Beach and Newport Beach. The Victoria World Championships of Skimboarding is at the end of this month and the Exile Oktoberfest contest is at the beginning of Oktober.
The total cost of the two trips is $2112.
