Prayers and Treatment for Margarito

Beschermde donatie

This is Margarito Vidrio. Father of 5 adult children and Grandfather to 3 beautiful girls. He is 54 years young and is in the fight of his life to beat a disease called Gorham Stout Syndrome. This debilitating disease confuses the body’s immune system into thinking that the person’s own bones are a foreign object. He has lost nearly his entire top jaw, all his top teeth, most of his eye socket, and is still losing bone. He has had a tumor removed from the inside of his mouth 2 times and it has GROWN BACK for a THIRD time. It is the size a half a small apple and is giving him infections, fevers, massive pain, breathing and swallowing issues, and he is to the point that he can hardly eat. He is on his way to Haborview as I start this campaign in hopes they will admit him. He just can't handle any of this anymore.

This disease starts by growing an excessive amount of blood vessels in one localized spot and then progressively deteriorates the bone in that localized spot. Unfortunately there have been very few cases ever recorded since it was first discovered in 1834 (less than 200 cases) and unfortunately there has not been enough cases to study to find a cure. He has a disease that effects 1 in 4 million people.

He is our father. We are currently asking for help in order to make life microscopically easier for him. He has gone through radiation, years of chemo therapy, and some form of stem cell research in Mexico with very little progress. IT HAS BEEN 7 YEARS WITH THIS ILLNESS WITH ALMOST NO RELIEF!

But there still is hope. He has met a new doctor in Seattle who is willing to try one more form of chemotherapy and more injections to help stop blood flow to the area and a new form of pain management. The issue is they are taking way too long to start and he is in major pain. The emergency departments and doctors here in Tri-Cities are not willing to treat him without Seattle constantly having to see him and make the orders for him to be treated here locally. It's a 4 hour drive each way and requires him to miss so much work and he is out of sick time. His work has been amazing and allowing him temporarily to work from home but he is running out of time.

My dad wants to focus on his health by going on disability but he would have to sell almost all his belongings, my mom would have to quit her pursuing of a nursing degree (about 2 years away), she would have to accept a position in a lower paying job to just afford insurance while STILL doing hair on her days off, and they would have to move and sell their house. My dad is running out of quality of life and it hurts to see him struggle so much knowing he has been there for everyone who has ever needed support. He doesn't deserve this. No one does.

If you can find yourself financially able to support my dad, please know it's for someone who has truly supported and helped everyone who he has ever met. From sleeping 3 hrs a day growing up so he could be the best dad he could be while working graveyard for over 30 years, to driving to Seattle to take someone else's child to get the medical support they needed because they couldn't so it alone to even letting everyone borrow his truck to move their things from apartment to apartment to even bringing over people into his home to help them get on their feet, he has been there. He has always put others in front of himself and ITS TIME for us to step in and tell him he needs to only worry about himself now.

Please send all the prayers and positive vibes you can daily for my dad. The smiley, squinty-eyed face we always saw is gone and he needs our support in everyway possible. Please pray God heals him. God heals all and we just pray he brings relief to my dad soon. Very soon please.

God bless and thank you.
