Hi Everyone,

At just two years old, Luca is a whirlwind of energy who loves life and has the brightest smile in the room. He should be spending his days playing and learning new words, but our world changed overnight on November 14, 2025. After about 3 weeks of congestion and swollen eyes we took Luca to the South Health Pediatric ER, expecting to have a diagnosis of some normal cold or infection. Instead, we received the news every parent dreads: Luca was been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). The road to recovery will be long. Luca has already begun chemotherapy and has had many inpatient stays already at Alberta Childrens Hospital. With this type of leukemia, his treatments will last 2.5 years, which means years of hospital visits, hospital stays, specialized care, and a total shift in our family’s daily life. We, as parents, are doing everything we can to stay strong for Luca and still be present for big brother Kai, and baby sister Nora.
