Help Me Put My Mom To Rest

Hi everyone,
My name is Natalie and I am fundraising for my beautiful mom’s memorial expenses.
My mom, Angela Macedo, has been diagnosed with something called “hypereosinophilic syndrome”, which is an extremely rare disease that came on very suddenly and has caused multi organ failure. It first attacked her colon, and then very acutely attacked her heart and lungs, putting her into respiratory failure. She also sustained a mini heart attack, and her kidneys and liver are also failing.
She has been intubated and on a ventilator for 3 weeks now. Despite aggressive treatment with high dose steroids and very strong antibiotics, she has not improved and unfortunately has been continuously declining. My mom is now considered to be on full life support.
Her doctors feel that because she has been on a ventilator for so long with no improvement, she has almost no chance to recover from the state she is in. Her doctors also said that even if she were to somehow turn a corner and start to improve (which they stressed to me is highly unlikely), she would require a permanent tracheostomy and long term ventilator use, as well as living in a skilled nursing/rehab facility for the rest of her life. She would not be able to do anything a normal person is able to do.
Obviously, my mom would not want to live that way and I do not want to see my mom suffer any longer. With that being said, the doctors are strongly advising me to switch her to hospice/comfort care, which means she will soon be given very good pain medications and be taken off of all life support, to allow her to pass peacefully.
Anyone who knows my mom knows what a powerful force she was. She could light up the darkest room with her smile, laugh and genuine kindness. My mom has been the most important person in my life, my entire life. We loved each other fiercely. She has always been my biggest supporter and the first person I go to for anything at all. She has been strong for me my entire life, and now it’s time for me to be strong for her.
It’s very difficult for me to ask for help in general, especially when it comes to money. But I desperately want to cremate my mom and give her the memorial she deserves, which is extremely expensive. My goal is to gather enough funds to be able to have her cremated and put to rest at the same memorial as my nana.
With any donation, you will help me tremendously in helping pay for her memorial, and take care of left over expenses that I need to take care of for my mom.
