Aloha Family, Friends and Beyond!
Shila Green is one of the sweetest and toughest people I know. She is so caring and talented in so many ways, she has also been struggling with scoliosis, a curvature of the spine, for her whole life. And you hardly ever hear her complaining. She is in almost constant pain and discomfort yet she keeps on smiling!
It has been a very hard thing to live with, especially as a teenager. Yet she has been handling it with amazing maturity and grace, she is so beautiful!
She was recently diagnosed professionally with severe scioliosis, 108 and 48 degrees curvatures. She has some vertabraes that are fused together. She will be undergoing surgery sometime this year. It has been a very huge decision and the path ahead is not an easy one. She is going to need good care and therapy.
I decided to start a GoFundMe to help her and her family through this so she can have the best care and the least pain possible. Our mother had to leave the United States last year, Shila lives with her father on Kauai. He is doing his best to help her through this yet there’s so much more she needs that he simply cannot afford.
Here is what I wish to use your support for:
- a good bed, crucial for easing her pains!
- Herbal tinctures to help her with a after surgery pains with as little painkillers as possible.
- Treatments with Egoscue, Pain Free clinic in Lihue, and other therapist perhaps to help her spine keep straightening and her pain be hopefully relieved.
- Perhaps a few things to help pass time when she has to rest a lot after surgery...
- I would also like to help fly our sister Yeelen to Oahu when the time comes to help support our dear sister during and after surgery! She really cannot afford to pay for her travels to Oahu from Canada yet it would mean a lot to Shila to have her there since our mom cannot, she is going to need a lot of help!
