A few months ago, a family member received some absolutely devastating news. You have "Stage 4 Lung Cancer"..... words that will pierce through the heart. Gena was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer that has already metastasized to multiple parts of her body. Since the diagnosis, Gena and her husband have decided to fight this grueling battle head-on with Chemo and various medications. Unfortunately, her insurance will only cover two or three medicines that she needs to treat this aggressive cancer. This sickness has hit her body hard, but if you know Gena she will not let anything stop her for long. This has been very emotionally devastating for our entire family and especially her husband, my dad David. They are having to face a financial burden trying to find the money to pay for her treatment, so she is not defeated before even starting her fight! Her husband David recently had to undergo a triple bypass open-heart surgery, which left her and her family in financial hardship not to long ago.

Through the years, Gena has touched countless people's lives. She has always greeted people with open arms and nothing but love and support. Gena is a full-time grandma to her precious grand babies, Hailey and Everly. If you know Gena you know her arms and home are always open to anyone who calls her. She has always put her needs on the back burner, and now, with Chemo, she has been bed-bound for most days. Not to mention with running the risk of infections, she has had to distance herself from her family. Chemo compromises the immune system, and any minor infection like the common cold can hult her chemo and put her in the hospital. She is the rock for so many people in her life. She needs help now more than ever as this will be a very rocky emotional and financial battle for her and her family. It would mean so much to us if you can donate anything at all; any help we can get for her matters! Prayers are always wanted, and even if you would like to leave some uplifting words of encouragement, that is welcome. Also, please, please help share her story!
