If you’ve been following my recent posts, and to all those that have reached out in support, I need your help.
I have been incredibly fortunate in my life to have a rabidly supportive group of family and friends.
Some of these friends were made during childhood and ensuing professional endeavours. Some of them were made during my ship exploits.
Mike Simons and Shanti Windee were amongst the first to express condolences and support when Elizabeth passed away. They were both part of a very transformative part of my life and their friendship in whatever form has never wavered.
Khers is a very lucky boy. He may be an incorrigible jackass, but he’s not unappreciative.
Mike had my sense of humour, was my age, and played a mean version of “White Room” when we finally got to play together. For seven years we’ve maintained a closeness marked with our mutual cynicism, extremely profane humour, and our underlying love and loyalty to those dearest.
Yesterday Mike passed away. He’s gone. I’m broken into pieces.
So now, I ask you for $5. Or more. I want him to get home from the UK where his ship stranded him, to be somehow reunited with Windee from Indonesia, and to see his family in South Africa. Complicated and expensive undertakings, especially given our current situation.
Please help bring Mike home.
Thank you,
Khers
