Hello Everyone,
Meet Leo, a vivacious 4 year old who loves paw patrol ( specifically Chase) and playing with with his younger brother and older sister. Leo lights up every room he’s in. He’s kind, thoughtful and outgoing. On March 29th, Leo’s parents Sevem Krasniqi & Amir Krasniqi brought him for a physical after noticing random and peculiar bruising with no cause to them. Once at the pediatricians they were urged to go to the emergency room. Upon arrival and many tests later the doctor revealed his WBC count was over 30000, which is 6x the normal amount for someone his age. They were then rushed to Childrens National emergency and went through more testing where they determined Leo has ALL B-type Leukemia.This type of leukemia is one of the most common childhood leukemias and makes fighting infections terribly hard. He was transferred to inpatient in the Oncology department at Children's National and met with Dr. Jacobs and the rest of the oncology team where she would start the long and grueling process of cancer treatment.
Our world was flipped completely upside down. Facing this travesty of a diagnosis in the midst of a pandemic never the less has come with its own battles in fighting cancer. Currently Leo is on intense chemotherapy in combination of other medications and surgeries including multiple spinal taps. Every day he fights to get rid of the cancer in his 4 year old body. He’s tired, he’s grumpy and he misses his siblings.
We started this go fund me to help support Leo and his parents Sevem and Amir Krasniqi during this time so they can continue getting Leo the care he needs and stay by his side to over come this. With cancer treatment being absolutely necessary and impacting many aspects of their life finances included and due to the high costs of healthcare. We wanted to help them with costs in anyway we could as they navigate through these difficult times. The money raised will go towards hospital expenses and essentials for Leo during his fight. We would like to thank anyone for considering donating as any amount is welcome and greatly appreciated.
