Help Bob Recover!

Donation protected

Hi all, and thank you in advance! I set this account up for a sweet friend and co-worker who is living through one of our biggest fears. She and her husband and daughters need our help right now, as she is having to take time away from work, and he is still fighting to get back to “normal.” Below I have put her words:

“Our sweet family has been struck by this horrid disease named Covid. Thankfully my husband is now recovering at home where we can give him love and nourishing food and plenty of rest. My husband and I have a fun story. We’ve been married for 17 and a half years and he’s my best friend. We met at work. Bob hired me years ago when I applied to work as a preschool photographer. After working together for months I took him to lunch one day and over tuna sandwiches I professed my love. ♥️ He tells me that I saved his life. He never finished eating his tuna sandwich and to this day doesn’t remember driving home that afternoon. He says his life changed at that moment. I knew the very first time I met him that he was special. Bob is kind, funny, generous and thoughtful, creative, and a loving father. He and Tori (she was 8 at the time) proposed over the karaoke mic at Thanksgiving later that year in front of all of my family and his. Of course I said  “Yes!”. Our wedding was on summer solstice morning outside at a church campground. It was glorious! I will stay by his side and care for him always. He is my rock, my best friend and my soulmate. He is the family cook and always has a way to make us laugh. We have a daughter together named Violet. Her life has been turned upside down right now and she’s handling it all so well. She has a heart of gold and is learning fast how she can help.
My husband, Bob, was diagnosed with Covid and Covid Pneumonia in both lungs on Wednesday, Jan. 13. The doctor said to continue treating him at home with an antibiotic and prednisone. However, on Saturday, Jan. 16, he woke up at 4 am and was struggling to breathe. His oxygen was at 74% so I called 911. He was admitted to the hospital with Covid Pneumonia in both lungs, Acute Respiratory Failure with Hypoxia, and Severe Sepsis. It was touch and go for many days. After 13 days in the hospital he was discharged home on Friday, Jan. 29. (We’ve never been apart for more than 3 days. Ever.) It was so hard to be away from each other for so long. I am so thankful for the nurses and techs he had that truly cared for him.
Currently he is on oxygen and needs 24 hour supervision and care. He’s lost a lot of weight (weighs 170 lbs and he’s 6’ 2”). At this time he is too weak to walk unassisted and even take care of basic needs. We’ve been able to secure the medical equipment we need at home through the kindness of others, FODAC, and insurance.
I am currently on leave from work. I am so thankful I followed God’s calling and went back to school to be a nurse. Since Covid is a novel virus no one really knows how long recovery will take.
I have no idea what the hospital bills will total. I am praying daily to God for complete healing of my husband’s body and lungs and for patience and peace over our family.”

Thank you all for your love and support for my friend’s family.
