Guru's surgery

I adopted Guru back in 2017. Right from the start I knew she was special. Everytime I looked at her, she sparked feelings of love and joy - She was also probably one of the cutest cats I had ever layed my eyes on.
I knew she had congenital megaesophagus when I adopted her. With tons of research, we found a way to manage her condition and she grew stronger, gained weight and became a healthy young cat.
Unfortunately, a year ago, Guru started going downhill and she went fast. She was hospitalized at my family vet and referred to a specialist for further evaluation. We ran every blood test imaginable and everything came back normal. We did more xrays, those came back normal as well. We did an ultrasound which was inconclusive and then a fluroscopy which showed some slow motility in her esophagus and paralysis in her pharynx. After all of that, we still didn't really have any answers.
I felt somewhat defeated. I did not know what more to do to help my sweet cat.
I went to see two more vets to get their opinions. They were perplexed by her case and couldn't offer me any more advice. I had run out of options, money, hope and was feeling quite defeated.
Guru is one tough cookie and she pulled through. She became somewhat stable, however, I still didn't believe we had done everything we could so I continued to push for answers.
Guru was seen at OVC on February 3rd for an initial consultation and yet another opinion. After being seen by a team of veterinarians and some more tests, we were finally able to get some answers.
Surgery to fix her hiatal hernia is estimated at 2500-3500$. Surgery is just the tip of the iceberg too. I am asking for help to cover some of the costs of surgery and her recovery in ICU. I have also been advised to invest in a MegaE Feeder which helps her stand in an upright position while eating. These run upwards to 235$ plus shipping. I'm currently a full time student, working very minimal hours and with the cost of surgery as well as all that has already been spent on tests and trial medications, I can't do this on my own.
Any bit helps. All I want is to be able to give her a chance at a life free of discomfort and pain!
Thank you! (And Guru thanks you as well!)
