Please Help Me Bury My Big Brother
Donation protected
Hello-
my name is Alexandra Ligawa, many of you know me as Alex. I am reaching out on behalf of my brother, Timothy and our family in this time of crisis.
My big brother, Timothy “Blue” Milanya Ligawa, was born September 14, 1977. The second born child of six to Kenyan immigrants, he was a bright and talented child in his youth. He loved us, he loved his mother, and his gentle nature put one immediately at ease. He worked hard, was a doting father and was devoted always to helping others in any way he could.
Milanya (Blue) taught me so much about living in gratitude, that it was possible to remain kind in the face of hardship and cruelty. He truly lived in grace. He had a heart of gold.
After suffering a fatal seizure alone in his home late Thursday afternoon, he was discovered there by a friend.
His sudden, tragic passing comes as a terrible shock to us all. Unprepared and unaware of any illness in him, there were no safeguards in place to ensure we would have the resources to return him to home to Kenya for burial, or to bury him at all.
We, the Ligawa family, are reaching out for help. We are at a loss. We truly hope to honor him with a dignified home going and farewell.
These funds will be used toward releasing his body from the medical examiner to the funeral home to prepare for viewing, gathering our family here in the United States so we may say goodbye to him together, and to lay him to rest here in Austin.
Please share this.
We are in desperate need of support.
With greatest hope and humble gratitude,
Alexandra, Anthony, Leslie, Elizabeth and Michelle.
