My name is David Wallace and I have stage 4 cancer. The good news is I have a 75% chance at survival. I was diagnosed with cancer in March of 2015 and started treatments in June. I travel 300km per day, 5 days a week, to recieve radiation and chemotherapy. The treatments make you tired and because of the location of the cancer in my neck, it has caused many bad side effects. You never know how important saliva is until you can't make it anymore!  As of now, it is painful to speak, difficult to swallow, and eat food.  Sometimes I am afraid I will choke while sleeping.  In total, I will receive 35 radiation and 9 chemotherapy treatments. My life will be almost normal when I am cured, but there will be some life-long side effects that will remind me of this battle forever.

I have had many good people who have stepped up to help me, like my friends Harv, Len, Lisa, Bev, Liane, Ruth, Phylis, Ethan, Philip, Moyra, Heather and Lori, who have helped with meals and jumped to the rescue.  As well as countless others who have provided words of encouragement. Special thanks to my brother, Don, who has dropped everything to come to my aid with his humor and compassion. Words cannot express how thankful I am for all of you.

My biggest need is for financial relief from the strain of medications, travel and the time off work that will be necessary for recovery.
