Hello and thank you for taking the time to read!
My name is Sherri Loghry, and the boy in the picture is my beloved 2 and a half year old nephew, Liam. Liam suffers from an unknown type of Periodic Fever Syndrome (http://my.clevelandclinic.org/services/orthopaedics-rheumatology/diseases-conditions/periodic-fever-syndrome).
Every 5 to 6 weeks his fever spikes between 105 and 107 lasting a week or a little more, and his lab results confirm there are high levels of inflammation in his body. As of yet, his team of doctors have been unable to pinpoint the location of the inflammation, but they know it is there.
He lives in Bixby, OK but sees a pediatric rheumatologist at Mercy Children's Hospital in Kansas City and sometimes goes to the Joplin satellite campus where they do telemedicine trying to get to the root of the problem. A genetisist has ruled out 6 different types out of the many that exist through a genetic fever panel trying to find a better way of treating him during the episodes, but so far nothing has been successful.
Due to the above, he has amounted quite a bit of medical bills that continue to come in day in and day out along with unpaid missed work days and travel costs to get him to the best places with hope of finding a solution/treatment enabling him to have a normal childhood where he will be able to attend pre-school in a year and a half without being gone a quarter to a half of each month, and perhaps even feel well enough to play T-ball, go to cub scouts, all the things little boys typically experience and have fond memories of.
If you are able to donate to help the toughest guy I know, you would be appreciated for a life time. If you are unable to do so, your prayers alone would still be appreciated for eternity.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
Sincerely,
Sherri Loghry
