My mother recently passed away from lung cancer. She was 69 years old. Leaving behind my father Ronald, whom she was married to for 51 years. My father is now solely responsible for his bills, food etc. He is on social security retirement, as was my mother. She had the higher benefit amount so now my father is in the process of trying to get her benefits instead of his, which was incredibly low ($699/mo). Today he received a letter saying the state will no longer cover the cost of his medical insurance and they will automatically deduct it from his social security benefit, leaving him with a whopping $399 a month to survive on, this is simply not possible. Social security has set an appointment for him for February 26th, and then it will take up to 60 days AFTER that for him to even receive the higher amount. Leaving him to survive on $399. He is a very proud man and he will not ask for help from anybody, so I am starting this gofundme in hopes of helping him get the help he needs. Dealing with the loss of my mother has already been incredibly taxing and this is making matters even more stressful on him.

The funds will go directly to supporting my father, Ronald, by ensuring his bills are paid and he has food to eat.
