Peace of mind for Kathleen

As many of you know, my mom has been a host and a victim, of a rare brain tumor for the past 12 years. It has re-grown 3 times, and has been operated on 3 times. The last attempt to remove it completely was unsuccessful. There is tumor in her head that is unreachable through operation. The past few months have been an immense struggle and challenge for my mom as she has been experiencing indescribable pain in her head. Her doctors have tried everything and have reached their last resort-another operation. The operation is scheduled for July 13, 2015 and we are all hoping and praying that it will finally bring some relief to my mom. 

In the past 12 years, these tumors have taken a lot from my mom. They have taken 50% of her hearing, her balance, her energy, and they have given her nerve damage and partial facial paralysis. On a broader spectrum, these tumors even took her career, her mobility (to drive), and eventually, they even took her home away from her. Over the years my mom has stayed strong and fought these battles. So far, she has been able to overcome them. However, with the number of personal losses increasing with each surgery, her peace of mind is decreasing. My mom deserves to have some peace of mind going into this surgery, and coming out of it. Living on the income that comes from disability benefits is not proving to be easy, and it is causing more stress than necessary for my mom as she faces yet another, uncontrollable battle. 

During all of this, my mom has also taken out her own loans to help me pay for MY college. I would like to use this site to help bring awareness to the struggles that have come with my mom's brain tumors. Not everyone knows the full extent or the reprecussions that come from this battle. My mom has fought so hard to overcome these tumors and she deserves to have some security in her life for once. I hope we can come together and help her get that! :)
