You can make a difference in a young child’s life.

Every year, the P.E.A.C.E. Afterschool Program (“P.E.A.C.E.”), gives approximately 50 underprivileged children, through their Afterschool Program and Summer camp, the opportunity to participate in activities that build critical thinking skills and positive decision making helping to make a difference in the
children’s lives. P.E.A.C. E’s mission is to reduce educational inequity and prevent drug abuse by providing enrichment opportunities for the children in the community. Many of the children come from families struggling to provide for them and P.E.A.C.E. offers them and their families the ability to help the children develop the skills necessary to build a new and brighter PRESENT and FUTURE for themselves.

Remember that P.E.A.C.E. Afterschool Program, Inc. is located in the Terrace Avenue/ Bedell development in Hempstead. The official acronym for P.E.A.C.E. is  Partnerships in Education to Avoid Criminal Justice System Entry, but our children created this acronym, “Partnerships in Education And Children Embraced.” We know that for children left unsupervised during the summer hours of 8:30 am-4:30 pm, or afterschool hours of 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm P.E.A.C.E. provides a safe gathering place. This year, P.E.A.C.E.’s 12th year of providing these enriching opportunities to young children, has been wonderful, as always, with children participating in the myriad of programs offered by P.E.A.C.E. through partnerships, such as the P.E.A.C.E. Robotics Squad, Chess P.E.A.C.E.s, Food Day Tuesday. Queens and Kings Mentoring, and Girl Scout Troop 4100. The private and small group tutoring helps support homework completion and academic gains for every child.

The children are also excitedly preparing for the Annual P.E.A.C.E Talent Show scheduled for June 7, 2024, that will showcase their talents and abilities. Children who attend P.E.A.C.E. Afterschool consistently demonstrate academic and social gains in school. Many have returned to the program to for their first work experience as youth counselors.  All of this is possible because of people like you and the important role you play in ensuring that P.E.A.C.E. continues to be able to offer these life-changing experiences for the children.

Your support helps to meet the needs of our community. As one parent said," Thank you so much again for everything! It's so appreciated from the food to the toys; the babies love it so much! Blessings to the entire P.E.A.C.E. staff! "
