Tracking Ceci, a documentary film

This is the story of the disappearance of a beloved family member and the continual ripple effects of grief that come from an unresolved mystery.
My niece, Cecilia (Ceci) Guachalla Velasco went missing after several months of traveling in the Amazon basin region of Bolivia. As she began her journey, she also began to forever change the lives of those who love her.
After visiting my sister Mireya (Ceci's mother) and my two nephews (Javier and German) in La Paz earlier this year, I was impacted by the multitude of layers that this jarring situation has brought to our family. The grief, trauma, and the waves of such profound and complex emotions are all pieces that we had never experienced before.
This film will revisit the investigation, the family’s role in her search, the strategy for her hopeful return, and the psychological impact on our family. Perhaps in its making, it will bring new light to the unresolved disappearance of such an incredible human being. This is the story of loss, courage, and unconditional love.
