In June 2013, our beloved mother, Ruby Bustos, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. It came as a big shock to our family and we were all devastated by this news. Our mom underwent a series of chemo treatments for several weeks before having surgery to remove the tumor in her stomach. In December 2014, we received great news from the doctor that the cancer was in remission. But three short months later, my mom had to undergo hysterectomy because the cancer metastasized to her uterus and ovaries. Then shortly after her recovery from surgery, we we're hit with another devastating news from her doctor that the cancer had become aggressive and metastasized to her lungs, thyroid, bones and liver.
She had one last aggressive chemo treatment that literally took most of her life away because she became very weak after and was unable to regain strength to continue with her treatments.
After a long, exhausting, painful battle with cancer, our mom passed on June 26, 2015. She was 66 years old.
Our mom was loved and admired by many. She was a joy to be around and made every single person around her smile and laugh. She was the life of every party and her smile and laughter was infectious. She had a great and pure heart and welcomed anyone with open arms. Her home became home for many of our friends and relatives. She helped so many people in her lifetime. She will be greatly missed.
Please help our family with whatever you can for her funeral services. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your love, support and generosity.
Sincerely,
The Bustos family
