If you haven’t heard, our good friend Zach started off the year with a very unexpected diagnosis. In January he started experiencing sudden abnormal pain, and after an ultrasound and blood work were conducted it was determined that Testicular Cancer was the cause. His care team were able to act quickly and on March 1st he underwent an Orchidectomy to remove the tumor and have it examined for pathology. He is currently on the mend and recovering well from this surgery, but as most of us know, the wins are great but the cancer fight can be long and uncertain. Post-op CT scans and blood work have been encouraging, showing lowered tumor markers, but potential presence of cancer in his abdomen and chest, and he’ll meet with his Oncologist in early April to determine the best next steps.

While we don’t know what the future holds yet for treatment, we are all remaining optimistic and in Zach’s corner. We all know how strong Zach is and how he faces challenges head on. Many of us followed along with his goal of running every day last year, and celebrated with him as he crushed a marathon in under 3 hours this last fall! Cancer is the next obstacle to be conquered. We are all behind him in this fight as he continues his journey through treatment.

That brings us to the purpose of this GoFundMe page. After doctor visits, CT scans, bloodwork, surgery, fertility care, and future treatment expenses, Zach will be on the receiving end of quite a few medical bills.
