Hi, our names are Erin and Michelle. We work with one of the most amazing teachers, Cathy Nicoletti. This woman dedicates her time not only to teaching, but to her church, and her community. Unfortunately, Cathy was suffering from stomach pain and nausea for several weeks before she was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. If you have heard anything about teachers, you know we do not make much money. As teachers, we look forward to summer break as a time to spend with family and catch up on all the things we don’t have time to do during the busy school year. This summer Cathy was looking forward to spending time with her grandchildren and preparing for the arrival of another one. She was also looking forward to spending time with her husband, Vinnie, doing one of their favorite pastimes, riding the train at The Greenfield Village. Instead, her summer will be spent receiving chemotherapy treatments and other lifesaving procedures. She is starting this long and grueling process this week when she has a port put in and further testing, all while still trying to show up for her students and celebrate their successes this year. Cathy has already missed several days of work due to all of the doctors' appointments and these days off are no longer paid. She is already struggling with medical bills. We are trying to raise money so she doesn’t have to worry about paying bills on top of fighting cancer. This is just the beginning of a long fight ahead and her family and her friends greatly appreciate anything you can donate to help in this battle.
