Janet's medical fundraiser

I wanted to start this page as a way to help my mom, Janet Smith with her medical bills. She has been out of work since the middle of December where this all began, which if you know my mom it has not been easy for her as she is always on the go! Working, cooking, taking care of my grandmother, shuttling family, in the garden etc. My mom had what she thought was a pulled leg muscle that shifted into her getting covid, while in quarantine she had to go to the ER on two separate occasions one for dehydration and the other for her continued leg pain. At her second visit this is where we found out she had formed a blood clot in her leg, she was placed on a blood thinner that was to help take care of shrinking the blood clot. As a few days past she began getting more and more discomfort in her leg with no relief whatsoever. This past Tuesday January 25th 2022 she was taken to the hospital in Elizabethtown where she was told that an infection had set in while her body was busy fighting covid that her immune system shut down. The place on her leg that was being treated for a blood clot then also formed into a flesh eating virus. The doctor said they could not perform surgery there and they transferred her to Cape fear valley that night and began a surgery to scrape out the skin with the infection. Later on they did another CT scan and decided to do a second surgery as infection has gone all the way into her leg muscle. The second surgery was this morning, they took her about 7:30 a.m. and finished roughly at 12:00 noon. We have yet to receive any more news at this time as far as if she will need any other procedures done or if they got it all. The reason I am asking for you alls help is because my mom is self-employed and while she has no insurance at all I do not want her worrying with the stress of bills. She will be out of work also roughly an additional 6 months the doctor is thinking. Anything at all you can donate is greatly appreciated!
