Support the Jones Family in Their Time of Need

Started this for my sister Lindsey Jones (Shirley) as her husband Jostin Jones is unable to work for the foreseeable future due to health issues. Lindsey works full time at the Anamosa State Penitentiary as a Correction’s Officer and is the only source of income for their family of 7.

History of his health issues currently: His first episode was May 5th, he was at work (was working at Anamosa Penitentiary as well but recently asked to resign) and passed out. It took 3 nitros, a dose of fentynl, and a dose of morphine to get his heart rate to calm down. Was there for about 18 hours and sent home. He saw a of a cardiologist, who dismissed all concerns. Went to his primary that Friday and she pulled him off work until we got some answers. That weekend things continued to get worse, so I took him to the University ER, and they again dismissed our concerns. Throughout the month, he continued to have chest pains and passing out episodes, took him back to the University ER and took my father in law for back up, we were there, they tried to send him home and i refused until they at least monitored him longer. They decided to do a chest XRay and when they went to put him in the wheelchair and thats when he passed out and hit the floor. They decided to admit him, and after another big fight with them they, kept him longer got neurology and ENT involved, and got the answers below.

As stated above Jostin was at the U of IA for nearly a week and they diagnosed him with a few things but still many unanswered questions. Here’s a breakdown of those diagnoses and current state:

Arthritis and a bone spur in his C-Spine (C-5 through C-7/8), collapsed ear canal, and a crazy amount of sinus build up so bad its in his frontal lobe. Everything else like why he is having chest pain is still waiting for a diagnosis. They dont know whats going on with his heart. It continues to spike, plus his oxygen drops into the upper 80s lower 90s. He continues to have passing out episodes. The most recent was Tuesday

June 17th that I know of. 90% of the time, I have to do a sternum rub to get him back out of it. His new cardiologist is ordering a different kind of CT scan that will look more into the makeup of his heart, plus he's currently wearing a better kind of a holter monitor.

They have 2 children together - Jace and Paityn plus 3 other children from Lindsey’s previous marriage that live with them full time Lilly, Nick and Connor. Paityn is special needs with spina bifida. Bills are piling up and kids still need to go to doctor appointments and day care (Jace and Paityn).
